As a child I wanted to be an archaeologist, but that changed. I now dig for strength, courage, hope and the betterment of neurotransmitters in people's lives.
Accreditations
I have been a psychiatrist in New Braunfels since 1995. I am double Board Certified: in General Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Since 1995 I have done mostly private practice, but some consultative psychiatry, community psychiatry, work with military and training of medical students and residents as well.
Post Doctoral Training
I completed my training in general psychiatry as well as subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the UTHSC in San Antonio, TX. This was after I spent one year training in pediatrics at Scott and White in Temple, TX.
Education
I received my medical degree from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and passed the Foreign Medical Graduate exam in the year following my entry into the United States.
Personal
In 1989 I got married and entered the USA, having been born and raised in the Netherlands. I raised two children, now grown, in New Braunfels. I love to ride a bicycle, do arts and crafts and practice French.
